Most people find us the same way. You see a reel worth keeping, you go to save it, and Instagram gives you no button for it.
IGdown is a free web tool for downloading Instagram videos, photos, reels, stories and IGTV clips. Paste the link, press Download, keep the file. No account, no app to install, no subscription. It runs in whatever browser you already have open, on a phone or a laptop.
We keep it deliberately plain. Nothing to upload, no queue, no watermark stamped on your file. You get the media at the quality Instagram serves it.
The tool works with public posts only, and that is on purpose. If an account is private, its posts stay private. We will not add a workaround for that.
IGdown is owned and operated by Maetheon LTD (maetheon.com). We build small, single-purpose web tools and keep them free by keeping running costs low. Ads pay for the servers. That is the whole business model.
What we are working on next: Android and iOS apps, faster processing on long videos, and better handling of multi-image carousel posts. A good number of the features on the site now started as a user email, so suggestions really do get read.
